I got home last night from ImagingUSA conference in Nashville (great time there) and was exhausted. I guess it was the drive + lack of sleeping + information overload, but all I wanted to do is go straight to bed. But even as I lay there all I could think about was Haiti. Several years ago I took a trip to Haiti to visit a sponsor child of mine as well as help out a local mission organization there. Even more recently my brother has adopted 1 child from Haiti and nearing the end of the process of adopting a 2nd from Haiti. So as I lay there begging my brain to stop swarming with images of Haiti and the dear children of this extremely impoverished nation, I had a thought/revelation/inspirational spurt.
“How could I help?”
“How could a guy in TN help out at all?”
So almost in a sense of divine intervention I through this together and it will be going on sale later this afternoon (details to follow). Please, please spread the word. There are many many ways to help out through various organizations, but I wanted to make something that (1) I know 100% of the proceeds will go to aide, and (2) I wanted it to be something that will be a message to others as well. The sad truth about this tragedy in Haiti, is that next month it will be old news. Most people will have forgotten about it, or at best put it on the back shelf of their minds filed in the catalog of “sad things that happened.” But the truth is, the people will still be scared. The buildings will still be crumbled. Death will still be fresh on the hearts and minds of the Haitians. So I wanted this to be blaringly loud….HELP HAITI!
